It also comes with unlimited DVR and up to three simultaneous streams. If you don't mind missing out on local and sports channel, then Philo will do just fine.

DirecTV Stream is a live TV package that has all of cable's perks, minus the inconvenience. It carries over a hundred live channels, including popular ones like WeTV and local ones like FOX and NBC. It also offers unlimited DVR, multiple and on-the-go streams, HD streaming quality, and you can cancel it anytime. It's pricier than most cord-cutting plans, but still significantly more cost-effective than traditional TV.

Sling TV is a cable alternative that offers two plans: Sling Orange, which exclusively carries Disney and ESPN channels, and Sling Blue, which has channels like HLN, Bravo, and FX. None of them comes with We TV, unless you get the Lifestyle Extra. The extra also comes with other channels like Hallmark and the Cooking Channel. Sling Orange and Sling Blue each costs $46/month, while the extra is an additional $6/month. If you subscribe to Sling Blue and live in a market that gets local channels, you'll have to pay an extra $5/month in broadcast fees.

YouTube TV is one of the more popular cable alternatives out there, and for good reason. Not only is it easy to sign up for and use, it also offers a wide variety of channels, large cloud DVR storage, and the creation of up to six different user accounts. That said, it is still missing a few popular channels (namely A&E and History), and some users have complained about low picture quality during live sports events.

This newcomer to cord-cutting quietly launched in April 2024. It's about 90 channels for $39.99, without any additional fees like a local channels surcharge, because there are simply no local channels. What you won't find either are sports channels. And some of the channels are Spectrum channels like Spectrum Originals and Spectrum News.

With Philo having a similar channel lineup but costing $15 less, you probably need a very good reason to go for Spectrum TV Stream. But, it's always nice to have another option.
