Discovery+ is a streaming service from the famous mass media company that has an ad-supported plan for $5.99 a month and an ad-free plan for $9.99. This includes content from Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Food Network, HGTV, ID, A&E, History, Lifetime, OWN, Travel, Science Network, and The Dodo. But beware, you cannot stream these channels live with a Discovery+, you can only watch their TV shows in playback.
Discovery Plus launched in the U.S. in January 2021, after a trial run in India and Europe. In April 2021, they announced that they have reached 15 million paying subscribers.
If you usually watch a lot of Discovery content, like programming from the Discovery Channel itself or TLC, Animal Planet, etc, then this is the streaming service for you. There is so much to watch, over 2500 series and 55,000 episodes.
Discovery+ has an incredibly big catalog, which the service estimates at 55,000 episodes. But then again, it's not any type of catalog, it's very specific stuff. So before you subscribe, go on their website, browse their programming, and if some of it speaks to you, great! Otherwise, there is little use to having access to so much TV without being interested in it.
