A chilling and dark movie to be especially appreciated by true suspense lovers. At the funeral of the family’s matriarch, no one is emotional except the granddaughter, whose grieving is disturbing, to say the least. When both grieving and not grieving are unsettling, you can tell what kind of family (and movie) this will be.
Synopsis
Following the death of the Leigh family matriarch, Annie and her children uncover disturbing secrets about their heritage. Their daily lives are not only impacted, but they also become entangled in a chilling fate from which they cannot escape, driving them to the brink of madness.
This movie was more gross than scary.
Yeah, I’m inclined to agree. I watch a lot of horror movies, and this one has gotten a ton of praise. I can see where people are coming from, but for some reason this movie didn’t do it for me. It did make me jump a few times, and I found myself asking, “Can they really show that in a movie??” Worth a watch just for that I think, but it’s not the kind of stuff that haunts your dreams either.
