Streaming Services on Nintendo Switch in 2026

Updated

Like a lot of video game consoles, the Nintendo Switch allows you to stream on its platform. But unlike them (and perhaps owing to its compact design) the Switch’s streaming options are very limited.

Hulu tops the list as it’s the easiest to access: it already provides a ton of content, plus it comes with different packages to choose from. But there are other things to consider as well, so we’ve rounded up all you need to know below. Take note that because Nintendo is constantly upgrading the Switch, we’ll be updating this list accordingly to keep up. Make sure you come by regularly to keep posted.

How we test

We have covered streaming in America at A Good Movie to Watch since 2012, longer than most of the services on this page have existed. We run each one ourselves, track what the price actually becomes once the promo ends, and recheck every month.

How this page is organized

We have grouped every deal by what you actually get with it, so you can jump straight to the kind you want. Use the menu to skip around.

The “Hulu + Live TV” plan mixes Hulu’s exclusive offering of Originals with around 90 TV channels (the channels available depend on where you live). If you already have Hulu, getting the Live TV addition is usually cheaper than subscribing to another Live TV service. And if when you want to cancel the Live TV plan, you can click “cancel” on Hulu which will give you the option to keep the On-Demand part while canceling the Live TV.

In our book, Hulu is already up there when it comes to Hispanic-friendly streaming services. It spotlights Latin American-made content and makes those titles easy to find on their platform. But if you want to improve the experience, then you can check out the Español Add-on, which adds Spanish live TV channels to your current lineup so you’re updated on Latin American news, entertainment, and sports. At the moment, the add-on costs $4.99/month, so prices start at $93.98/month when combined with Hulu with Live TV plans.

Pokemon fans will be glad to know that hundreds of Pokemon episodes, as well as films and specials, can be streamed for free on the Japanese anime’s official streaming platform, Pokemon TV. You can download titles to watch offline (though they expire after a week) and, in case you’ve seen them all, the platform shifts them around so you can catch anything you’ve missed, old and new.

You don’t need even to make an account to watch Pokemon TV, much less pay for it, making it an ideal viewing option for cord-cutters on a budget. It’s also conveniently available on most devices, including smart phones, TVs, and of course, the Nintendo Switch.

If you’re already subscribed to any of Hulu’s existing plans (currently, those are with ads, no ads, and live TV), you can choose to boost your subscription with a Starz add-on for an extra $10.99 a month. This rounds up your library of Hulu originals with Starz’s own collection of prestige series such as Gaslit, Outlander, and Serpent Queen, as well as their cult-status comedies like Party Down, Minx, and Ash vs. Evil Dead. Additionally, you can stream Starz live and log on to the app, if you have it, with your Hulu credentials.

While this simplified bundle is certainly interesting, it’s even more appealing for TV fans out there who have much to gain from this pairing. Prices for this bundle start at $22.98, since the ad-supported Hulu plan now costs $11.99/month.
