Get Sling Orange if you watch ESPN or Disney channels, which are not available on Sling Blue.

If you like channels such as Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, and TBS, Sling Blue is a cheap alternative to cable - costing only $40 a month.

DirecTV Stream is a Live TV streaming platform with a twist: you can download the app on any of your existing devices, or for a $120, you can get a box with a custom remote control for the service. But without the box, DirecTV Stream functions like a Netflix or Hulu, allowing you to stream Live TV from anywhere by downloading the app. Within your home, you can stream on up to 20 devices (!), and from outside your home you can stream on up to three devices.

Nothing beats the price: $28 is really cheap, one of the cheapest ways out there to get Live TV. And the fact that you get unlimited DVR -if you care about that kind of stuff- on top of that is kind of crazy. Just as a comparison, Youtube TV offers unlimited DVR but it costs three times as much.

Sling is a great option if you want to cut the cord but keep access to many channels. If you don't watch sports, you don't have to get the package for them.

In 2020, Hulu updated their interface to a much neater version, allowing for one of the easiest and most intuitive Live navigation systems around.

In response to the growing popularity of free streaming services like Tubi, Xumo, and Pluto, Sling TV has come up with Sling TV Freestream, an ad-supported version of its live TV and on-demand streaming service. Compared to its paid tier, Freestream has fewer channels and premium titles, but with more than 200 live channels and on-demand content to boot, it's certainly worth giving a try—you don't even need to sign up for an account to start watching. Notable channels in Freestream include AMC+, Comedy Central, Discovery, TBS, Cartoon Network & Adult Swim, and major news broadcasters like CBS and ABC. Sling TV has been at the forefront of live TV for years, but it breaks new ground with Freestream, a platform designed to both entertain and entice users to upgrade to their meatier packages. Recently, Freestream also added free DVR.

Frndly is one of the cheapest Live TV streaming services out there, so if there is a chance you're only interested in the channels it offers (such as Hallmark), go for it. However, if you like more options and are willing to pay more, there are streaming services with many (many!) more options.

Sling's "Orange" plan will get you channels like ESPN and Freeform, while the"Blue" plan will get you channels like TBS and Lifetime. If you get the "AMC+ extra", you sign yourself up for one of the most cost-efficient bundles of the cord-cutting era. For $7, you will get AMC+ (which costs $6.99 as a standalone service), plus Shudder ($4.95 standalone), plus Sundance Now ($6.99 standalone), plus IFC Films Unlimited ($5.99)

Name a better bundle deal. I'll wait.

Get Fubo TV if you're currently paying more than its monthly price for your cable and if you like watching live TV channels. However, if you don't watch a lot of live TV there are much cheaper options out there for on-demand movies.

Over 140 channels, unlimited DVR and RSNs included - DirecTV Stream Ultimate is the most complete cord-cutting streaming bundle out there. Think of every sports network for example, ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports, NHL Network, etc, you name it, you got it. You also get over 55,000 (15,000 more than the base Entertainment package) of on-demand movies and shows included. Of course, there is a price tag that comes with all of this that will rival the most expensive cable packages: over $100 a month.

With this package DirecTV is saying: if you want cheap, go to Sling. This is not cheap, but it has everything a family could need from a TV package.

Soccer fans can enjoy every UEFA Champions League game and every UEFA Europa League game on Paramount+. Football fans can enjoy many NFL and College Football games on CBS Sports. Plus, there are CBS local channels that cover most of the United States.

Youtube TV boasts a wide offering of almost every major channel, unlimited DVR, six accounts, and up to three simultaneous streams. It's the perfect option for families. The cost is a little steep, and there are cheaper options out there, but with a great interface (Live TV services are not known to always have the most intuitive interfaces) and wide availability across devices, it's fair to say that you'll get your dollar's worth.

Dubbed "The Free Netflix," Tubi is one of the best options for streaming quality movies and TV shows online. The completely free, ad-supported service has one of the most extensive title lineups, plus it's compatible with most devices, making it an extremely popular option for cord-cutters. Though it has been noted to have a less than stellar resolution, most viewers don't mind due to its easy interface, constantly updated library, and of course free titles. Parents will also be glad to know that the service has parental control features.

At $84.99 a month, the fuboTV Elite package is a comparable price to other streamers offering both live and on-demand content. It also offers massive cloud DVR storage, can stream to 10 different screens simultaneously, and the app is compatible with most streaming devices. Compared to its competitors, it's pretty much on pace - it’s more a question of what channels are most important to you.

Solid free option: You can get access to acclaimed shows for free, including 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation and Downton Abbey, to name a few. The free tier also includes new episodes of NBC shows that are on their first season. Live TV: With the premium service, you can get live sports (e.g. Premier League) and news on top of the on-demand platform.

DirecTV has one of the most comprehensive sports bundles out there. Not only does it cover the essential live channels like NFL Redzone, NBA TV, and MLB Network, it also has over 30 out-of-market RSNs and multiple networks that cover specialty sports and top collegiate teams. The bundle itself costs $15/month, but you need to be subscribed to one of DirecTV's packages, which start at $65/month, to purchase it. Do note that some of DirecTV's base packages already include some of the channels in this sports bundle, so make sure you double-check the channel lineup below to avoid too many overlaps.

Now TV is the new cable alternative from Comcast (owner of Xfinity). For $20/month, you get over 40 live channels, 20 hours of DVR, and watch on up to three devices. You also get Peacock Premium included. And of course, no minimum commitment and you can cancel anytime. 

To get it, you have to first subscribe or already be a subscriber to Xfinity internet. You can then add it at checkout. 

At $20, it is one of the cheapest cord-cutting services out there, especially considering the channels that it offers. 

Plex is a media management software that doubles as a free streaming service. Its main function is to organize your own library of content—that is, your own video, photo, or sound files—and make it streamable alongside Plex's offerings of 200+ live TV channels and 50,000+ on-demand movies and shows. Plex's basic package comes at no cost, but it also has a premium package starting at $4.99/month that boasts additional features, such as the ability to download content and watch them offline, among other things.

Sling TV may be an affordable live TV streaming option, but because of its limited local channel offerings, it tends to be ignored by hardcore sports fans (especially football fans) hoping to cheer for their team. Thankfully, Sling's Sports Extra bundle, which costs $11/month, adds about 10-20 more channels depending on your plan. Popular channels include NHL Network, MLB Network, NBA TV, and NFL Redzone. If you want even more concentrated content, Sling TV also has a football season pass that allows users to pre-pay $219 for Sling TV Orange and Blue + Sports Extra, which lets you watch all the major league games on ESPN, ABC, NBC, and Fox (though notably no CBS). 

Amazon Freevee, or simply freevee, is a free, ad-supported streaming service powered by Amazon. It has a notable library of titles, not to mention its own original shows, plus it's easy to access since it runs on most if not all available devices. Although other free streamers have it beat in terms of range and variety, freevee is still a great option for newbie cord-cutters, especially since it already comes on most Amazon platforms.

The Roku Channel can't replace Netflix or a cord-cutting service like Sling, but it's a nice added bonus if you already have a Roku device. The selection of live channels is limited, but there's something for everyone, including news, sports, and entertainment.

I’ll say it again: it’s free! It’s also super easy to access. The app is available on most Smart TVs and streaming devices, and if you don’t have either of those, you can just pull up the website and watch from your computer.

If you don't mind a messy interface and no recording capability and want to save a few dollars a month, Vidgo might be something to consider. However, you can either check out cheaper options that offer more limited selections of channels or pay a little more for much better services.

DirecTV is known for its comprehensive but pricey live TV packages, but now it's offering something a little more accessible in the form of MyFree DirecTV. DirecTV's newest service is completely free (they don't even ask for your credit card details) and airs channels like Dove TV, Tastemade, Moviesphere, Live Tennis, Sports Grid, Design TV, Court TV, and more. You don't have to be a DirecTV customer to access it, but you do need to create an account using an email address and download the DirecTV app on your preferred device. The app works fine on major streaming devices, including mobiles and TVs powered by Android and Apple. For now, MyFree DirecTV has a total of 70 free channels, but it's announced more channels are on the way as it finalizes partnerships with studios like A&E, Fox, and Lionsgate.

Spectrum SportsNet+ is a subscription plan available exclusively on the NBA app or website. It's a 24/7 digital stream that lets you watch all the Lakers content you get on the Spectrum SportsNet channel, which means access to live games of the current season, pre-game and post-game shows, replays, and even Lakers documentaries and programs. If you have access to the channel via cable or a live TV streaming service, or if you have a Spectrum mobile or internet plan, then you can use your credentials to log into Spectrum SportsNet+. If you don't, then you'll have to purchase it on the NBA app. A subscription to Spectrum SportsNet+ costs $20 monthly, which you can cancel anytime, or $195 annually, which renews every September. Though Spectrum SportsNet+ is only offered to those living in Southern California, Hawaii, and parts of Southern Nevada, subscribers can watch the app live and on-demand when they travel outside of the territory (at least for 30 days). Sadly, Spectrum SportsNet+content cannot be DVR'd at the moment.

Tablo TV is a free live TV streaming service that lets you watch local channels like ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS, as well as 70 fast channels, including HSN, ION, Grit, MeTV, and CourtTV. It's exclusively available to those with a Tablo device—the latest already comes with a built-in indoor antenna—which itself requires a one-time payment of about $70 to $130, depending on what version you get. It's free in the sense that you don't have to pay a monthly subscription fee, as you would on usual live TV streaming services since it streams channels that are already airing for free via broadcast towers near you. A Tablo device lets you watch Tablo TV on up to 4 devices connected to your home Wi-fi and record shows while watching a different channel. If you're on the go, you can also control the DVR via the Tablo TV app. You can download the app on all major smart TVs and mobile devices. 

Flosports is a streaming service that provides easy access to live-stream broadcasts of more than 20 different sports, including basketball, baseball, volleyball, rugby, hockey, swimming, and motorsports (many of them collegiate). The breadth of options makes Flosports a popular option among sports fans, but users have noted some hiccups with the service, including inconsistent quality since it uses feeds from different networks, many of which are stationary and commentary-less. And though most of the games are available as on-demand replays, they can be difficult to find. That said, a lot of other users stay because Flosports airs games they wouldn't be able to watch otherwise, so if your team or area is covered, it's certainly worth considering. A subscription costs $30/month or $150/year, and it's compatible with most smart TVs and mobile devices.

TCL is one of the leading TV brands out there, so it makes sense the company would come up with a flagship streaming service. TCLtv+ is a streaming app that features more than 300 FAST channels and a couple of on-demand movies and TV shows, all for free. It's easy to get overwhelmed when a service has that many to offer, but there are some notable channels on TCLtv+, including ION (which has NCIS, FBI, Chicago Fire, and countless other procedurals), Dateline 24/7, Cinevault Westerns, Waypoint TV, Estrella TV, Canela.TV, NBC Sports, and Fox Sports. TCLtv+ is, of course, available on most TCL TVs, but you can also download it on iOS and Android-powered streaming devices. Thanks to an agreement with Roku, it can also be found on the homepage of newer Roku devices.

There are two ways you can get NFL Redzone through YouTube TV. The first is when you bundle it with the NFL Sunday Ticket, a standalone offer that lets you watch NFL Sunday games even without a YouTube TV subscription. But that would cost you a hefty $519 across four months (or a whole season). The second and cheaper way to get NFL Redzone is by purchasing YouTube TV's Sports Plus Add-on, available only to YouTube TV subscribers. The add-on itself costs $11/month, cancellable anytime, but paired with YouTube TV's base plan, the bundle will cost you a total of about $84/month. Not bad, especially since Sports Plus comes with 15 other sports channels, including Fox Soccer, BeinSports, MAVTV, and Tennis Channel.

Hulu with Live TV is already a pretty packed live TV streaming service for sports. It comes with ESPN+ and has channels like ABC, CBS, FS1, TNT, TBS, and TruTV. But for an additional $9.99/month (that's about $87/month total if you're on the basic plan), you get to supplement that with specialty sports channels like NFL Redzone, which gives you access to nonstop and on-demand football action. Along with NFL Redzone, Hulu's sports add-on comes with MLB Strikezone (if you want a blow-by-blow account of every league game during the regular season), Outdoor Channel, Tennis Channel, Fanduel, Sportsman Channel, MAVTV (for avid motorsports fans), and Fanduel Racing. If you're a hardcore sports fan looking to cover all bases, then this bundle is certainly worth considering.

Fubo Deluxe includes all the entertainment, lifestyle, news, and local channels Fubo Elite has, but it adds MGM+ and the add-ons Sports Plus and International Sports Plus in the mix. With this plan, you can access NFL Redzone and out-of-network NCAA games via ACC Network and SEC Network, plus channels like Willow TV, ESPN Deportes, and GolTV Spanish. Along with unlimited cloud DVR and simultaneous streams, Fubo Deluxe has even more 4k content and a whopping total of 307 channels. If you get Fubo Elite with these add-ons separately, you'd have to pay about $93/month for everything, which is $17 more than if you get Fubo Deluxe for $110/month. It's a bundle worth considering if you put sports, especially international sports, and blockbusters on a premium.

Optimum Entertainment TV is a live TV plan that offers about 80 live channels for $30/month, but it's only available to those using Optimum Internet, which starts at $40/month, and an Optimum Stream device, which costs $5/month. Its lineup has yet to feature sports channels and local networks, though it does cover news for the New York tri-state area via its very own News 12 channel. Other notable channels include HGTV, Discovery, History, AMC, Nickelodeon, Hallmark, and Lifetime. For now, Optimum Entertainment TV is only available in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Arkansas, Arizona, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Texas. 

Known formerly as VUIt, Zeam is a live TV streaming service that specializes in local channels. Zeam has agreements with 300 local stations across the country, including ABC, NBC, FOX, and ABC affiliates, so the exact channel lineup varies depending on where you live. However, most users will be able to access content from at least one of the major networks. The content in question is mostly news, though, since Zeam doesn't stream primetime shows and live sports just yet. It can seem bare to some, but it's a nifty service to tune into if you want to stay on top of community news and weather updates. It's also completely free, and you don't even have to create an account to start watching.

If you're an Xfinity internet customer, then you're eligible to subscribe to Now TV Latino, a Spanish-language live TV package that can be added to your bill for an extra $10/month. The package has 25+ channels that cover all bases, including films and TV shows via channels like Cinelatino and Sony Cine; news via channels like Estrella News, Caracol Televisión, and your local Telemundo channel; and live sports via Peacock Premium, which comes included at no additional cost. Like all Now TV plans, Now TV Latino comes with 20 hours of DVR and zero contracts, so you can cancel anytime you want. You can also bundle Now TV Latino with other Now TV plans like StreamSaver, which has Netflix and Apple TV+. 

Sling TV's Dashkin Flex Extra is an add-on pack that carries more than 10 South Asian channels, including Simply South, Hotstar, and of course, Willow, which will host the ICC Men's T20 World Cup along with top leagues and major events. You can watch all these on your Sling guide and any other device you have the Sling app. The Dashkin Flex is one of the many extras Sling provides for Desi and international content. 

Willow TV is a subscription service that gives you access to cricket content 24/7 for $10/month. Sure, you can watch the channel on select TV providers, but if you're a fan, it's worth considering Willow TV's live HD feeds, access to past matches, and accessibility on mobile devices. It's also a great option for cord-cutters or those who don't want to splurge on a hefty cable package. In the US, Willow has exclusive rights to broadcast major cricket leagues, including teams from England, Australia, Pakistan, and India, and events like the ICC Cricket World Cups and the T20 World Cups. 

Philo Free is a completely free live TV streaming platform that carries more than 70 channels, including AMC Thrillers, BBC News, The Walking Dead Universe, and beIN Sports Extra, on top of on-demand films and TV shows. Like Philo's paid plan, Philo Free also offers DVR storage, though here it's limited to 30 days, as opposed to a year, and you can still create up to 10 custom profiles. You'll need an account to start watching Philo for free, as well as a compatible device, but you notably do not need to provide credit card information. In case you want more live channels or DVR storage, you can always upgrade your account to Philo Core, which is $25/month.

The Max + B/R Sports add-on combines Max's arsenal of on-demand titles from Warner Bros., HBO, DC, and Cartoon Network with The Bleacher Report's wide coverage of live sporting events, including March Madness, the NBA Playoffs, The Stanley Cup Playoffs, and various MLB matches. You could say it's an extension of TBS, TNT, and truTV sports as it airs select (not all) games from those channels, but it also covers so much more, including other sports like golf, cycling, and MMA. Since October 2023, B/R Sports has been added to all Max plans completely free of charge, but once the promo ends, you'll have to pay $10/month on top of your Max subscription to enjoy B/R content. And of course, blackout restrictions apply.

Spectrum TV Latino is a live TV streaming plan that Hispanic customers of Spectrum Internet can either purchase as a standalone or add to an existing Spectrum Stream TV plan. Unlike the latter, however, Spectrum TV Latino has sports channels, including beIN Sports en Español and TUDN. Other notable channels include Univision, Bandamax, UniMás, Discovery en Español, and in select markets, Telemundo. The package is $25/month (excluding tax) and is compatible with major streaming devices, though it might not work as well on Sony and Amazon Fire TVs.  

Exclusive to Spectrum internet users, Spectrum TV Stream is a live TV streaming service that costs $40/month. It's cheaper than Spectrum's other cord-cutting plans, but that's because it doesn't carry sports and local channels, only news and entertainment. Some notable channels include Disney, CNN, Fox, AMC, Discovery, and for classic Hollywood fans out there, the elusive TCM. It may not seem like much, especially when you compare it to similarly priced packages like Sling Orange, which for the same price offers you sports channels, but it could be an attractive option for Spectrum users looking to pay for everything under one bill and who only need select cable channels to get their TV fix.

Unlike other streaming services, Sling doesn't have just one but six Spanish-language plans that you can choose from. The base Sling Latino plan just costs $10/month and includes more than 20 channels, including BeinSports so you can tune into soccer games live. When you combine that with another regional Latino plan, like Sling Mexico (11 channels), Sling Sudamérica (11 channels), Sling Caribe (9 channels), Sling España (4 channels), or Sling Centroamérica (3 channels), you only have to pay $5 more on top of your existing plan. On their own, however, they also cost $10/month each. Following the same logic, combining any of these Latino plans with either Sling Orange (which has the Disney networks) or Blue (which has more news and sports channels) will cost you $45/month. That's one thing about Sling: the options may get overwhelming, but at least you know you can customize your plan to your specific liking. Needless to say, every single one of these plans comes with the usual Sling TV features like 50 hours of cloud DVR (which you can upgrade for a fee) and three simultaneous streams.

In our book, Hulu is already up there when it comes to Hispanic-friendly streaming services. It spotlights Latin American-made content and makes those titles easy to find on their platform. But if you want to improve the experience, then you can check out the Español Add-on, which adds Spanish live TV channels to your current lineup so you're updated on Latin American news, entertainment, and sports. At the moment, the add-on costs $5/month and is only available to Hulu with Live TV subscribers.

Vidgo Mas is the streamer's bespoke plan for Spanish-language viewers. It has the main channels viewed by Hispanic households, including Unimas and Univision, and Spanish versions of popular channels like Sony Cine, History en Español, ESPN Deportes, and Nat Geo Mundo. Like Vidgo's Plus and Premium plans, Mas comes with 20 hours of cloud DVR, three simultaneous screens, and access to on-demand content. Unlike other Spanish plans, Vidgo Mas isn't available as an add-on. If you want both English and Latin American channels, then you'll have to subscribe to the Vidgo Ultimate plan (currently at a whopping $100/month), which combines all of Vidgo's live TV channels, regardless of language.

Cord-cutters only interested in Spanish-language content will find much to like in Fubo Latino. Instead of the usual lineup, the Latino plan carries more than 65 channels in Spanish, including Unimas, Univision, BeinSports, Nat Geo Mundo, Sony Cine, and Discovery en Español. And since Fubo started as a soccer streaming service, it also has live sporting events featuring leagues like the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, and MLS. At only $33/month, it's Fubo's most affordable plan yet, but it still has base features like 250 hours worth of cloud DVR and two simultaneous streams. If you already have a Fubo base plan, Fubo also offers these channels as an add-on for $20/month.

The most cable-like live TV package to date, DirecTV Stream Premier carries every possible channel you can think of. The sports department has ESPN and Fox Sports, to name a few, plus all the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB specialty channels. Meanwhile, the entertainment department has premium networks like HBO, Starz, Cinemax, and Showtime. It even has RSNs and local channels, all of which total more than 150 channels, so if you want your subscription to cover multiple bases, this is as comprehensive as it gets. All this comes to a hefty $160/month, which seems like a lot for a cord-cutting service, but with features like unlimited screens and DVR, it's worth considering if you have the budget to spare.

There's a reason why DirecTV Stream Choice is the provider's most popular package to date: it carries over 105 channels, many of which are specialty sports channels like Big Ten Network, MLB Network, and NBA TV; it has local channels and RSNs where available; it offers premium add-ons like Starz and HBO; and maybe most important of all, it's still under a hundred bucks, which is not something you can say about most live TV packages these days. In other words, Stream Choice is for those looking for extra sports coverage while wanting to enjoy the usual benefits of DirecTV, like unlimited screens and DVR, and keeping it all under a reasonable budget.

If you have an Air TV streaming device, you'll automatically have free access to 1oo local channels from affiliates like ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and PBS all in HD. To be clear, the local channels are free in the sense that you don't have to pay a monthly bill to watch them, as you would on a cable or live TV subscription, but you do have to pay a one-time fee that sets you up with an Air TV device and an HD antenna. Depending on the bundle you pick, that can cost you anywhere from $150 to $250. It seems like a lot, but it makes sense when you consider that it comes with DVR, the ability to watch local channels anywhere, and for Sling TV subscribers, seamless integration in all your devices. Although you don't need to be a Sling TV subscriber to start using Air TV, the two are perfect complements that save you a lot of money, in the long run. Sling TV has live TV channels equipped for sports, entertainment, and nationwide news, while the one-time-payment Air TV gives you constant and uninterrupted access to your local channels. If you do combine them, Sling takes care of any overlaps to ensure you're getting the best of both streaming worlds in all compatible devices.

PBS channels around the country are free on television, and thanks to the PBS app, they're now free to stream as well. The PBS app gives you on-demand access to many of the network's famously educational shows, including Nova and PBS News Hour, as well as the nearest local station in your area. You don't need an account to start watching on the PBS app, although you might have to activate it beforehand. Again, PBS is free, but if you want to support your local PBS station and gain extended access to even more films and TV shows, then you can purchase a PBS Passport membership, which costs around $5/month or $60/year.

If you're an Xfinity internet customer, you're eligible to sign up for the Now TV and Peacock Premium bundle, a hefty live TV and on-demand streaming package that gives you access to films and TV shows from Universal, NBC, Bravo, Hallmark, History, and AMC, as well as 24/7 coverage from live channels like BBC News, NBC News Now, the Food Network, Discovery, and IFC. The beauty of this bundle is that covers the essentials of traditional TV, namely news, entertainment, and sports (Peacock is home to a number of live sporting events), while also giving you all you need on the on-demand front. Even better? It only costs $20/month, Now TV's regular price, since Peacock Premium is added to the bundle completely free—no need to pay an additional $6/month, which is what the service would normally cost outside of this bundle. The Now TV and Peacock Premium Bundle also comes with 20 hours of cloud DVR, and you can stream it on three concurrent screens. Apart from a subscription to Xfinity, there are no other strict requirements when claiming this offer.

Peacock Premium Plus is the highest streaming tier Peacock offers, but it's still one of the cheapest packages you'll find right now. For just $14/month, you get access to a vast selection of TV shows (many from NBC and Bravo), movies, live channels, and of course, sports. Premium Plus subscribers also get offline downloads, ad-free viewing, and access to their local NBC channel.

Whether you're a Korean expat living in North America or a true-blue Hallyu fan, you'll find much to like in OnDemandKorea, also sometimes known as Korea on Demand. The streaming service has both live TV and on-demand content, which it makes available in three tiers. The basic plan is ad-supported and free, the premium plan costs $10.99/month and gives you exclusive ad-free content, while the premium + box plan costs $19.99/month and gives you all the benefits of the previous plans plus five simultaneous viewings and 100 live channels. Korea on Demand also gives you the option to pay yearly to help you save up to $200 in costs. In terms of content, the platform has an impressively wide range. On the on-demand side, it has more than 500 films that range from mainstream to indie, while on the live TV side, it has multiple channels that cover news, entertainment, variety, and sports. It's important to note, however, that the entire site is in Korean and not all titles have English subtitles, making it most suited to native or advanced speakers of the language.

NFL+ is the league's official streaming service that gives you access to live and local regular season and postseason games, on-demand programs, and even tools for your next fantasy football game. As of 2023, NFL+ also offers the NFL Network and NFL Redzone channels in its plans, making it a solid option for true-blue football fans hoping to finally cut the cord. A regular subscription costs $6.99/month and includes everything in the above, except for NFL Redzone and replays of full games, highlights, and all-22 coaches films, which are only available in NFL+'s premium subscription, priced at $14.99/month. Both plans offer free trials and are available on most major streaming devices, with the exception of live local and primetime regular season and postseason games, which can only be viewed on phones and tables.

No longer just a physical DVD kiosk, Redbox has expanded to become an online space where you can rent and purchase films and TV shows as well as watch live channels for free. Like Vudu and Amazon Prime, Redbox gives you access to a plethora of movies, including fan favorites and indie gems (these can cost anywhere from $2 to $5) and movies currently screening in cinemas (these usually cost more, around $20). Redbox also has a live TV streaming feature that you can access even without a registered account. Although most of the channels are not that notable, they cover the essential categories: news, sports, and entertainment.

Remember those thrashy (but fascinating!) films that would air on TV late into the night, long after the proper programs had their run? Those titles have found a new home in Midnight Pulp, a free streaming service that lets you watch films and TV shows on-demand and live. It specializes in the weirdest content you can imagine; whether that's a 1960s Star Trek knockoff, a B-movie erotica, or a laughable monster flick, they likely have it here. Midnight Pulp also offers a live TV stream that's active 24/7 with channels that offer much of the same—with the exception, perhaps, of RetroCrush and AsianCrush, which have solid lineups of anime and dramas. Midnight Pulp also offers more titles (many of which are adult-themed) ad-free if you pay for their premium $4.99/month tier.

Cineverse is a free streaming service that has both on-demand content and live channels, all of which feature a broad range of content. The new streaming service's mission is to offer as many titles as it can, so you won't find a lot of blockbusters or big studio productions here (unless they're available for rent on ROW8), but you will have access to a ton of vintage, international, and niche films and TV shows. Our personal favorites include Howard's End, Mustang, and The Little Shop of Horrors. Since the streaming service is free, you'll encounter a lot of ads, but you can always subscribe to Cineverse's premium version, which costs $2.99/month, to get rid of the commercials and get access to even more content.

NewsOn is a free streaming service that lets you access live TV newscasts from over 200 local stations around the United States. According to the platform, it has partnered with ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX and their respective local affiliates to cover up to 91% of the country (a full list of their local channels can be seen here). You can also watch previous news, sports, and weather reports on NewsOn from up to 48 hours ago and select your favorite stations so that they appear first on the homepage. No registration is required, and it allows you to watch local channels wherever in the country you may be.

LocalBTV is a streaming service that delivers live feeds from local TV stations around the United States. Free of charge and offering cloud DVR with up to 1 TB of storage, it's an accessible resource for those looking to cut the cord without having to cut ties with their community. As of this writing, LocalBTV has yet to offer major news networks like ABC or CBS, but it is working toward that goal. It's set to offer a paid premium version that carries nationwide networks and doubles the number of available local stations. For now, it's still a handy live TV service that covers 52 areas in the US.

Haystack TV is an independently-run streaming service that delivers live and on-demand news, 24/7. It's ad-supported so it's completely free, but if you want to get rid of the commercials and dive straight into the latest news, you can subscribe to Haystack Premium for $4.99/month or try it for free for 30 days. The convenient thing about Haystack is that it allows you to navigate not just by channels but by topics as well. It also picks up news from more than a hundred TV stations around the US (check if they cover your area here) which saves you the trouble of switching services when looking for local news.

The Amazon Prime Video and Paramount+ Bundle is for those looking to boost their streaming subscription with even more original shows, popular films, and live broadcasts of news and sports. Under the Paramount tent, you get ongoing franchises like Star Trek and Yellowstone, kids' TV shows like Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer, and blockbusters like Top Gun and Everything, Everywhere, All at Once—not to mention local CBS stations that stream news, sports, and other live events. And now that Paramount+ has merged with Showtime, you also get the latter network's enviable lineup of documentaries, series, and sporting coverages. Since the merger is fairly new, Amazon Prime will occasionally offer the bundle at discounted rates, but generally, it still costs $11.99/month on top of Amazon's $14.99/month subscription. That's not a bad deal for a bundle packed with popular movies, original shows, and live TV.

With YouTube TV's entertainment bundle, you get three premium services for the discounted price of $30—that's $5 off compared to getting Max (without ads), Paramount+ with Showtime, and Starz separately. It may seem pricey, especially since you'll be paying it on top of YouTube TV's already costly subscription, but it could be worth it if you're looking to get a first-rate entertainment package. Max alone gives you access to HBO's critically acclaimed shows, Warner Bros.'s blockbusters, and Discovery's many wildlife features. But coupled with Paramount+ with Showtime and Starz, you get prestige dramas, trendy comedies, and insightful documentaries on top of all that, not to mention YouTube TV's unrivaled DVR storage feature and lengthy live channel list. It's a bundle tailor-fit for TV and film enthusiasts.

For the diehard soccer fan, Fanatiz is a streaming service dedicated to Latin American and Spanish soccer. Here, you'll get access to live and on-demand matches held by La Liga and Copa Libertadores, as well as complete coverage of Brazil's intense local competition Brasileirão. It's available in most countries worldwide, but North American viewers, in particular, will be glad to know that Fanatiz carries beIN and TyC Sports—vital channels that have exclusive rights to stream select leagues. Fanatiz has an $8 and $10 monthly tier, the latter of which gives you access to even more leagues and hours of VOD content, but we suggest you try the platform first (free for a week) to really test its quality and see how it stacks up to other similarly inclined platforms like FuboTV.

Despite its wobbly start in the streaming sphere, Peacock now has a growing and respectable catalog of titles to its name. It's home to critically acclaimed shows like Poker Face and movies like Tar, not to mention a whole host of reality shows and sports events. But perhaps the greatest edge Peacock has over its competitors is that along with its on-demand content, it also features a solid lineup of live TV channels, many of them for free. Peacock's free tier, often referred to as Peacock TV, has channels like Fallon Tonight, SNL Vault, NBC News, Premier League TV, WWE, Dateline 24/7, and Below Deck you can instantly watch upon signing up. While on-demand content here is limited, Peacock TV often allows you watch the first episode of certain shows to give you a taste of their Plus and Premium tiers, which cost $4.99/month and $9.99/month, respectively.

Level News is a slim ten-channel cord-cutting offer for, you guessed it, the news. It's a good add-on if you have another cord-cutting subscription that doesn't include news such as Frndly TV. That said, you will have to contend for less familiar channels as big-name broadcasters like CNN, the BBC, and MSNBC are still not available. Plus, some of the channels that are available, like France24, are streamable for free online. The service only launched in November 2022, and there are echos that it's looking to add more news channels soon.

All Samsung Smart TVs come with a free Samsung TV Plus app, the company's own streaming service that offers more than 200 live TV channels and on-demand content to users around the globe. There's no need to subscribe or even sign up for an account to access the app. Aside from its TVs (specifically the Neo QLED, QLED, and OLED series), Samsung makes its streaming platform available to all Galaxy Devices, mobile and tablet, as long as their operating systems are updated to Android 8.0 or higher. It's a worthy option for cord-cutters, especially if you want a fuss-free and cost-efficient way to watch your favorite channels.

Local Now is a free streaming service from The Weather Channel that offers up localized content geared to where you're using it from. That means you can get local news, weather updates, and even restaurant reviews that are specific to where you, the user, are from. Aside from the convenience of getting local coverage, Local Now also provides thousands of movies and live TV channels to choose from, perfect for when you're relaxing or on the go.

Netgem TV is a UK-based all-in-one subscription service that provides hours' worth of live and on-demand content and hundreds of channels, including BBC, ITV, Sky, and more. Depending on the package you pick, a subscription may also entitle you to their 4K TV box and other similar devices, since much like Roku or Vizio in the US, Netgem is powered by its own hardware platforms. Purchasing one of them can also give you access to a couple of free titles and channels, though most are still available as premium add-ons.

Glewed TV is a free, ad-supported streaming channel that provides an extensive lineup of movies, series, and documentaries. It also has its own exclusive set of titles and podcasts, with genres spanning travel, sports, comedy, action, and more, plus it's available on a plethora of platforms. If you're still on the fence about going completely cordless, Glewed TV is one of many easy and accessible streaming options to choose from.

Distro TV is a free streaming service that features free shows, movies, documentaries, news, concerts, and more from all around the world. It specializes in global content, drawing from the US, UK, and Canada, as well as from other parts of Europe, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. It has both live and on-demand content, plus it's easy to stream from many devices, making it an easy and affordable option for cord-cutters.

7 Plus is a free, ad-supported streaming service that gives viewers the very best from Network Seven, one of Australia's major broadcasters. It has entire seasons of popular shows, movies, live coverages, and old and new content alike as the service's library is constantly updated. Because Network Seven is comprised of many channels, including those entirely dedicated to news, films, and sports, 7 Plus also has one of the most extensive catalogs of content out there. It's also fairly easy to use and available on a number of devices.

ViX is an ad-supported streaming service by Univision, the largest Spanish-language content provider in the US. Spanning the usual movies, series, and telenovelas, the ViX library also boasts live TV, news, and sports programs. The latter, in particular, comes as a strong suit since the streamer covers events in conjunction with TUDN, Univision's sports arm, as well as hosts football events in many parts of South America. The free-to-watch service also has an on-demand section, meaning you can easily search for a title you want to watch instead of scrolling from the multiple channels available.

SportsLive is a live-streaming and on-demand platform covering both pro and amateur sporting events. Fans are able to stay updated on their favorite teams, whether they're from big leagues, college, or even high school. Apart from featuring nearly 20,000 live events, it also boasts a catalog of exclusive programming, interviews, press conferences, and more. This platform, powered by CBS Sports Digital, comes at a relatively hefty price, but it will surely satisfy sports fans everywhere.

For no-brainer shows like The Drew Barrymore Show, Extra, and The Voice, check out ET Live. You can also find clips and segments from these shows on the app. Sometimes it's called "ET Online" (the website is etonline.com), sometimes just ET; as its name indicates, it's the equivalent of a Youtube channel for ET.

It doesn't offer the ESPN channels but it has a lot of on-demand content and is a good way to watch some sports live. Namely: UFC events, many soccer leagues (such as LaLiga and Bundesliga), Golf, Tennis, and MLB. For the price, ESPN+ is worth at least a try if you are a fan of any of these sports.

Stirr is an American ad-supported streaming service owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group. It was launched in 2019. Not only is it free, but it provides access to live local news, 120+ TV shows, and 8,000+ hours of on-demand movies. This service is for viewers who don’t want to commit to a cable fee and don’t mind intermittent ads when watching their favorite movies and shows.

For $49.99 per year, YipTV is much cheaper than adding an international package to standard cable. It offers live channels and on-demand content, all of which is easily accessible from the app. Plus, a single account can host simultaneous viewing from five different devices, so your Smart TV, iPhone, desktop and whatever else you can rustle up can all be going at once.

With a starting price of $18/month, you can get local channels as well as basic national TV channels. It's good value if you only watch a few channels, but to increase your options, you have to buy into more packages. Prices vary depending location, but getting all packages should cost you around $79.5.
