A sweet feel-good movie starring Nick Offerman as a dad who has to deal with his only daughter leaving for college and his record store struggling. The daughter is played by Kiersey Clemons who you might recognize from the show Easy. And Ted Danson has a great role too. This is a relatable and heartwarming movie, one of the best the so-called “indie” genre has known in a long time.
In the hip Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook, single dad and record store owner Frank is preparing to send his hard-working daughter Sam off to college while being forced to close his vintage shop. Hoping to stay connected through their shared musical passions, Frank urges Sam to turn their weekly jam sessions into a father-daughter live act. After their first song becomes an internet breakout, the two embark on a journey of love, growing up and musical discovery.

Saw this movie when it just came out because it caught my attention right away. Being a music junkie myself and all about my family, this touched me in a way few movies ever have. Very heartfelt. It is a must watch 🙂
This is a good movie…a good script and the music and acting were good.
Very nice and affirming film but left with a bittersweet vibe at the end. Love the actors.
