Widow’s Bay 2026

An outsider mayor confronts town superstition in this witty yet eerie horror comedy series

Our Take (by Isabella Endrinal)

In the modern age, superstition can seem a bit silly. There has to be a logical, reasonable explanation for every scary tale– and that’s exactly what the small town mayor of Widow’s Bay believes. Unfortunately for outsider Tom Loftis, his fellow townspeople don’t agree. It’s funny to see him try to convince people otherwise. Despite the frustration, he’s quite hopeful he can do something, though every attempt seems to be undermined by Wyck, an old fisherman clinging to past superstition. But what’s more hilarious is the way he continues on his quest, despite all the genuinely scary moments he experiences while trying to disprove all the myths and legends of this town. Widow’s Bay has fun balancing the jokes and the thrills, riffing on classic horror while contemplating the effort it takes for a community to change.

Notable Critics

"Not all of the big swings in 'Widow’s Bay' turn into home runs, but it’s never anything less than ambitious."

— Brian Tallerico
