Hook

Dir. Steven Spielberg · United States of America · English

Our take by Bilal Zouheir

A follow up of the classic fairy tale, Peter Pan (Robin Williams) has sadly grown up and forgotten all about Neverland. When his children are kidnapped by Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman), Peter can only rescue them once he learns how to “believe” again. Luckily, with some help from The Lost Boys and Tink (Julia Roberts) Peter Pan is flying high in no time!

There couldn’t have been a better choice than Robin Williams to play Peter Pan along with Dustin Hoffman, at the helm in the best portrayal of the notorious pirate. Clever, colourful and charming, the film is a sentimental reminder that we should never let go of our childlike wonder and imagination. Whatever your age, build a fort in the middle of the living room, load up on snacks and enjoy the magic of Hook!

Editor Note: This movie has low ratings, A Good Movie to Watch exceptionally adds low-rated movies when reviewers show passion about the suggestion. Our rationale is that if they firmly consider it a good movie, others are likely to share the same opinion.

What happens

The boy who wasn't supposed to grow up—Peter Pan—does just that, becoming a soulless corporate lawyer whose workaholism could cost him his wife and kids. During his trip to see Granny Wendy in London, the vengeful Capt. Hook kidnaps Peter's kids and forces Peter to return to Neverland.
