Warm Bodies 2013

Our Take (by Bilal Zouheir)

A refreshing shot in the arm to a stagnant genre, Warm Bodies takes a typical boy meets girl plot and pairs it with a paranormal and comical twist. Telling the story of R, a zombie with an insatiable need for human brains, and Julie, one of the few remaining survivors of the apocalypse, the film brings them together in a comedic update of Shakespeare’s best known play. Funny, sweet and exceptionally of the times, Warm Bodies is a great date movie.

Notable Critics

"A charmer, but genre purists will likely hate its guts."

— Martyn Conterio

""Warm Bodies" offers a welcome twist on the living-dead canon, even if the decidedly femme-skewed results ignore pretty much every rule of the genre."

— Peter Debruge

Synopsis

After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.
