An adventure 65 million years in the making.

What happens

A wealthy entrepreneur secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. However, the park is anything but amusing as the security systems go off-line and the dinosaurs escape.

What the critics said

Notable Critics

"In its mixture of excitement, wit, and fear, Jurassic Park comes close to Jaws, though the calculation involved in Spielberg's recent big-machine approach to moviemaking can be depressing."

— David Denby

"Like Jurassic Park, "Jurassic Park" is ultimately unable safely to contain its attractions, but the dinosaurs are still magnificent."

— Kim Newman
